Contribute to URPX

URPX is developed by the URPX Working Group under LF Energy Standards and Specifications (LFESS), a Linux Foundation project. Anyone can contribute through meeting participation or directly through GitHub.

Join the working group

  • Mailing list. Subscribe to urpx-wg@lists.lfenergy.org, a public, self-service list that carries meeting invitations and working group discussion.
  • Meetings. Working group meetings are open to anyone on the mailing list with an LFX account, which is free to create and gives you the meeting link. Agendas and notes are published in the urpx-wg repository.
  • Committee. Voting on stage promotions and releases is reserved to the committee, a smaller group of active contributors. To request membership, contact the chair at chair@urpx.org or at a working group meeting after attending at least one meeting or making a contribution or proposal. See Governance and Working Group.

Propose a change

The standard's files live in the urpx repository. Use a GitHub issue for concrete feedback and focused proposals that identify a specific problem, question or improvement and propose a concrete change; open an issue first for larger structural changes, which need working group discussion before implementation. Pull requests are reviewed by a maintainer; structural changes to the ontology, the SHACL shapes or the repository layout are discussed at a working group meeting or in a focused issue first.

Submissions must be written and reviewed by the person submitting them, and kept concise and specific. The full expectations, including the terminology to use and the issue format, are in CONTRIBUTING.md.

Licensing and sign-off

Contributions are licensed under the terms that apply to each file category: specification files under the W3C Software Notice and Document License, dataset files under CDLA-Permissive-2.0, and source and meta files under Apache-2.0. See Copyright and Licenses. Every commit carries a Developer Certificate of Origin sign-off (git commit --signoff).

Test with real data

Rate plan data from any utility is welcome as a test case. The test cases and the examples show the shape; the repository's test-case corpus is where new cases land through a pull request.
